 Prairie View hosts “Bookfast”

The Prairie View Middle School National Junior Honor Society is hosting a “Bookfast” from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, April 20, at the school, 12915 E. 120th Ave., Henderson. Adults and children are encouraged to bring their gently-used books.  For each book you bring, you get to trade it in for a book of your choice.  This is especially great if you have recently “leveled up” and are needing more challenging books to read, or if you are a series reader and you need another book in your series.  Books will be categorized by reading levels.  For example, infants, preschool, Kinder – second, etc.  There will be tables for adults to choose from as well.

As an added bonus, the NJHS will be serving breakfast for just $3.50 a person.  That will allow each diner to get a plate of pancakes and a drink or a breakfast burrito and a drink.  All monetary proceeds will be donated to Almost Home in Brighton.

Left over books from the “trade” will be donated to local facilities that are in need including Almost Home, the Senior Center, the hospital, and Stout Street Rehabilitation Center in Commerce City.  For those who can’t attend but have books to share?  Drop them by PVMS during regular school hours.  Mark them Bookfast and we will get them out to the public.)
