Janet Williams Named Adams County 2011 Employee of the Year
The Adams County Board of Commissioners announced Janet Williams as Adams County 2011 Employee of the Year at the Employee Recognition Luncheon on March 27, 2012. In her four years as an enforcement specialist with the Human Services Department - Child Support Section, Williams has consistently maintained one of the highest production rates on the team. She has exceeded the collection goals for the percentage of payments received for current support and cases in arrears. “Together, we assume a great responsibility in serving residential and business communities through numerous programs, services and projects,” said W. R. “Skip” Fischer, Chairman of the Adams County Board of Commissioners. “We are serving a growing community, with a current population of over 445,000 residents, and we are doing it well -- because of employees like Janet.” Her “can do” attitude led to Williams’ selection to manage a federal “asset-building” grant for the Child Support Enforcement section that provides non-custodial parents with four-to-one matching funds to buy a house, start a business or finance an education. She rose to the challenge, by developing processes to administer the grant while maintaining a full caseload of 600 clients and achieving exceptional statistics. Williams was selected as countywide Employee of the Year following committee review and selection as Employee of the Month for December 2011. The Employee Recognition Luncheon is an annual event to honor the accomplishments of employees who have reached milestones (in five-year increments) with the county, retirees, Employee of the Month recipients, and to announce the winner of the Employee of the Year.
