Lakewood High School Students Reaching Out to help the homeless
Littleton, Colorado – April 2012 –On Friday, April 13, 2012, 50 high school students from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Colorado, will be packing and delivering 100 sack lunches to those experiencing homelessness in downtown Denver. As part of the FRIENDS FIRST STARS peer-mentoring program, these students are taking part in a club in which upperclassmen mentor freshmen, teaching them about how to make healthy choices for their lives in order to grow up to be a positive influence in their families and their communities.
