United Power Rate Increase Goes Into Effect with February's Billing

As a reminder, the 2013 rate increase went into effect beginning with February 1, 2013 electric usage. Members will see the new rates reflected on their March statements. The United Power Board of Directors approved the retail rate changes at the December 2012 board meeting.

While the new rates are intended to cover
an overall 4.9% increase in the wholesale
rates we pay for power, for most customers
the changes will be lower. The new retail
rates also reflect a shift in the design of some
of our rate structures, due to a change in the
way we will be charged for our wholesale
power under Tri-State Generation and
Transmission’s new rate structure.
