Student approached by stranger

Brighton, Oct. 23, 2012 - This morning a student from South Elementary in Brighton reported that a man in a red car asked her to get in his vehicle as she walked to school. She ran to school and reported the incident. Police were immediately called and are continuing their investigation.

Pennock students participate in Walk-to-School Day

Brighton – Community leaders and students from Pennock Elementary School celebrated the 15th annual International Walk-to-School Day Oct. 3. Walk-to-School Day is designed to emphasize the healthy habit of walking for students and also stress the importance of students having safe walking routes to school. City of Brighton Mayor Dick McLean, along with several other city council members and city representatives, joined 27J Superintendent of Schools Dr. Chris Fiedler in walking with students.
