Open Enrollment applications accepted through Feb. 15

Brighton, Jan. 8, 2012 – School District 27J is accepting Open Enrollment applications for families who wish to enroll their student in a school outside of their designated attendance area.

School District 27J schools are open to all children of the district. Any student residing within the boundaries of the district may apply to attend any 27J school with space available. While the majority of students attend their neighborhood or attendance area school, the district also offers charter schools, an alternative high school, home school support and special programs to serve the needs of each student.

Families who wish to enroll their student in a school other than their attendance area school must complete an Open Enrollment application. Applications for Open Enrollment are accepted for the following school year on a space available basis. Students who are residents of Colorado, but do not reside within School District 27J, may apply for enrollment to a school or program in 27J within the Open Enrollment period.
If a family plans to enroll their student in their attendance area school, there is no need to complete the Open Enrollment application. Contact your school to register.
The deadline for consideration for the first round of Open Enrollment requests is
Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. Applications received after that date will be considered if space is available after the first round of application decisions has been made. Principals will make a decision on Open Enrollment requests by Feb. 22 and will notify parents of the determination.
Open Enrollment applications and additional information can be found at sd27j.org. Call 303-655-2900 with questions.
