Coffee with the Mayor 8:30 a.m. Mon., March 18, Atlanta Bread in the Northglenn Marketplace Coffee with the Mayor is a chance to talk directly with the mayor about issues in the community and to learn about new developments in the city. Northglenn High School STEM Open House

6:30-8 p.m. Thurs., March 21, Northglenn High School, 601 W. 100th Place

City Council, along with the Adams 12 Five Star School District, is inviting the community to an open house that will showcase Northglenn High School’s new science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) programs.

Parents who have children who may be interested in the program or a business interested in what changes are taking place in local education are especially encouraged to attend.

Twilight & Flashlight Egg Hunts

Twilight: 5:30-7 p.m.; Flashlight: 7:30-9:30 p.m. Fri., March 22, Northglenn Recreation Center, 11801 Community Center Drive

The city has added the Twilight Egg Hunt to its ever-popular Flashlight Egg Hunt. The Twilight version is for youth ages 6 to 8, while the Flashlight Egg Hunt is for kids ages 9 to 14.

Everyone will scour the grounds, looking for eggs with their flashlights. Some eggs are filled with candy, others have great prizes. Once the eggs have been collected, everyone goes inside for refreshments and the grand prize giveaway.

Check-in is at 5:30 p.m. for Twilight and 7:30 p.m. for Flashlight.

Babysitting Class

9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sat., March 23, Northglenn Recreation Center, 11801 Community Center Drive

This course teaches first-time babysitters ages 11 to 13 everything they need to know when responsible for young children. Skills covered include CPR, first aid, growth and development, safety, feeding, discipline, diapering and bathing. The cost is $55 for residents, $60 for non-residents. Senior Book Club: “Smaldone: The Untold Story of an American Crime Family”

Aquarium Snorkeling

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thurs., March 28, meet at the Northglenn Recreation Center, 11801 Community Center Drive

As part of the Recreational Alternative Programming (RAP) series, youth ages 11 to 18 can have a snorkeling adventure at the Downtown Aquarium. Participants should be comfortable in water. All equipment and instruction is provided. Price includes a t-shirt, admission and a coupon to the aquarium restaurant. Cost is $110 for residents, $121 for non-residents. Neighborhood Watch Block Captains Meeting

6:30 p.m. Thurs., March 28, Northglenn Senior Center, 11801 Community Center Drive

The city is hosting a Neighborhood Watch Block Captains meeting, which will cover creating an effective Neighborhood Watch group, obtaining roll-offs for active groups, code enforcement and personal safety. The group will also be discussing the Neighborhood Watch Summer Kick Off on June 26 and National Night Out on Aug. 6. Easter Breakfast and Egg Hunt

At Home Alone + First Aid Class

9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sat., March 30, Northglenn Recreation Center, 11801 Community Center Drive

This workshop by Kidproof shows children ages 10 to 13 how to look after themselves if they spend a few hours home alone before or after school.
