Northglenn Implements Sign Program to Promote Businesses

Northglenn, CO – 104th Avenue is a very important east-west corridor for Northglenn. Nearly 46,000 cars drive along it every day and it includes the vibrant Northglenn Marketplace shopping area.

However, some businesses in the area are located just off 104th Avenue on Melody Drive, and are therefore out of sight to many potential customers.

Northglenn City Council approved a way finding sign program designed to direct traffic to commercial establishments not located on major corridors.

The goal of the signs is to help promote and market businesses located off the arterial roads that are not easily seen by passing traffic. The Melody Drive district was identified as the first area to implement the sign program.

The program consists of two signs that each holds nine sign panels. The city had 23 businesses in the Melody Drive target area apply for the 18 spots. Retail businesses that generate sales tax are given priority in the program. The 13 retail businesses that applied will be on the signs for the entire year. Non-retail business will be placed on the signs when there is available space on a quarterly rotation.

The program will open for new applications at the end of 2013. All businesses in the Melody Drive area are asked to apply at that time.
