Section of 144th Avenue to be closed beginning Sept. 24

Beginning Sept. 24, 144th Avenue between Sable Boulevard and Buckley Road (27th Avenue) will be closed for drainage utility construction. The closure is expected to last through Sept. 28. City of Brighton Weekly Update -- A Message from City Manager, Manuel Esquibel

I would like give a tremendous congratulations to Tawnya Russell, the Manager of Youth Services, as well as our City Council in continuing to support youth initiatives in the city that have made it possible for us to be recognized as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People. A special thanks also needs to be extended to all the organizations providing services to youth including the 27J School District, the Boys & Girls Club, Parks & Recreation and other nonprofit organizations in the City. Additionally, the Youth Commission has been asked to make a formal presentation to the City Council at the next council meeting.

Brighton Ceremony Unveils City's Rank in "Top-100 Best Communities for Young People"

On Wednesday, Brighton was named one of America’s Promise Alliance’s 100 Best Communities for Young People presented by ING. The national award was given to Brighton to recognize its outstanding and innovative work in addressing the high school dropout crisis and for its programs and services that make it an outstanding place for youth to live, learn and grow.
