COMMERCE CITY, COLO. – Wondering what to do with that live Christmas tree after the holiday season? Drop off your tree at one of five locations to be recycled for use as mulch within the city’s parks and trails system.

Trees should be natural and free of all ornaments, decorations and stands. Wreaths, tree limbs, synthetic trees, bushes and shrubs are not accepted for recycling. Trees will be accepted December 25, 2012 – January 7, 2013 at one of the following locations:

·         Recreation Center, 6060 E. Parkway Drive

·         Municipal Services Center, 8602 Rosemary Street

·         Second Creek Future Park Site, 100th Avenue/Joplin Street

·         Buffalo Run Golf Course, 15700 E. 112th Avenue

·         River Run Park, 11515 Oswego Street

These unstaffed locations are open 24 hours a day. Look for fencing and signage that mark the tree drop-off areas at each location.
