Brighton to Host Inaugural Film Festival

The City of Brighton and the Armory Performing Arts Center are pleased to announce the inaugural Brighton Film Festival to be held at the Armory Oct. 4 and 5, 2013. The theme of this year’s festival is “Your Ten Minutes.”

The Brighton Film Festival (BFF) honors and promotes student, non-professional, and
professional film/video productions with a length not to exceed ten minutes. Soliciting
family-friendly entries in eight categories, winners will be announced at the inaugural
Brighton Film Festival.

“As a strong believer in building community through media, it is my hope that the BFF
brings writers, directors, actors and crew together to create memorable creative videos
and to have some fun in the process,” said Brighton Film Festival Coordinator
Andrew Bergey.

The BFF Committee is currently accepting submissions in the following categories: Sci
-Fi/Fantasy/Adventure; Drama; Art House; Slightly Spooky; Animation; Comedy; Original
Music Video; and Documentary. Submissions will be accepted through noon on
Sept. 13. For more information on submitting a film, the categories, entrant classes, or
submission fees, visit www.brightonfilmfestival.com.

All Brighton Film Festival winners will be announced at the two-day Brighton Film Festival
event in October. Eight award categories in three classes will be judged over the
course of two evenings. More information on the event and tickets to the event will be
available soon on the Brighton Film Festival website: www.brightonfilmfestival.com.
