Brighton Chamber of Commerce Announces Three Exciting Programs Funded By Lodging Tax Proceeds

March 18, 2013---Brighton, CO--- The Brighton Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the implementation of three exciting projects thanks to City of Brighton Lodging Tax Proceeds. The Brighton Chamber received $31,000 to accomplish three community promotion and education projects to help residents, visitors and people considering relocation better understand all that Brighton has to offer. The three programs included Live Local, Buy Brighton, The Community Resource and Visitors Center and LIVE bRIGHTon Relocation and Welcome program.


The Live Local, Buy Brighton program offers consumers the opportunity to save big at local retailers and restaurants with a chance to win a monthly prize pack valued at over $400. Consumers are encouraged to get 5 signatures with participating businesses and organizations and upon completion they turn in their card and have the opportunity to win. The $2000 in Lodging Tax proceeds will be primarily used for new and improved Live Local, Buy Brighton cards in 2013, window decals for identification of participating businesses and marketing efforts to businesses and consumers.


The Brighton Chamber of Commerce Community Resource and Visitors center (CRVC) has become a local hub offering residents and visitors a place to get information on the community and learn about upcoming events and opportunities. The funds provided by the Lodging Tax proceeds will go to enhance the current offerings of the resource center, placement of a large sign to identify location, a welcome center and additional marketing opportunities. The CRVC currently sees 15-30 people each day with large increases expected over the next year. The Brighton Chamber of Commerce received $25,000 for the above listed items, with the majority of funding going towards signage improvements.


The LIVE bRIGHTon Relocation and Welcome program was designed in an effort to help future and new residents of Brighton see all the great things that Brighton has to offer. The Brighton Chamber will work to design and distribute a relocation kit available in digital and hard copy versions to anyone interested in relocating to the area. The kit will include information on city government, local businesses, community resources and more. Upon arrival new residents will receive a welcome bag with a variety of community resources and promotional items to introduce them to Brighton. All $4000 of the funds provided to the Brighton Chamber for LIVE bRIGHTon will be allocated to the promotion of Brighton and to create long lasting resources for new and current residents.
