Thornton Shooting with critical injuries

On February 24, 2013 at approximately 1:30 AM, Thornton Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance where shots were fired at Chamucos Bar located in the 8600 block of Washington Street. Officers found a 40 year old male at that location that sustained a gunshot wound. The male was transported to the hospital for medical treatment for serious injuries.

Former Brighton charter school chief charged with theft -- Denver Post Article

Former Eagle Ridge Academy executive director Robert Hughes has been charged with theft and embezzlement, accused of stealing almost $20,000 from a federal grant intended for the Brighton charter school. According to an arrest affidavit, the startup grant was to be used to purchase about 350 Netbook computers for students as well as software and other program materials. Commerce City police find missing 14-year-old boy --- Denver Post Article

Commerce City Police have found a 14-year-old boy who had been missing since Monday night. Christian Rasmussen, spokesman for Commerce City Police, said the boy was spotted at a gas station near Interstate 76 and 88th Avenue by a driver who called police. Adams County traffic stop leaves man shot to death by sheriff's deputy ----Denver Post Article

A suspected drunk driver allegedly pulled a gun on an Adams County sheriff's deputy Monday and the deputy shot and killed him. His name has not been released. Commerce City 'Missing Person' found Alive

The Commerce City resident who was missing in the last 48 hours has been found alive. The Commerce City Police Department received a report from a citizen of a male in the area of the 10700 block of Chambers Dr. The Denver Police helicopter was in the area assisting with the search, and was able to locate Sanders in a field west of Chambers Dr. Officers and medical personal were able to make contact with the individual who was then transported to a local hospital for treatment related to exposure to the cold. No additional information is available at this time. ...

Twenty-nine families whose lives have had challenges too much to overcome this last year. What is one Santa Claus supposed to do? What else could Santa do but reach out to the Commerce City Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 19 to assist. Not only do these 94 brave officers serve and protect all year long, 365, 24/7, but on Saturday, December 22, they donated, shopped, volunteered, wrapped, decorated, smiled, laughed, hugged, cooked, and cleaned. The most important activity of the day, the life changing activity, was they made dreams come true and they gave HOPE that life can be better, even if for only a short time. JUST IN: COMMERCE CITY POLICE OFFICER CHARGED WITH FELONY ANIMAL CRUELTY

According to the Adams County District Attorney's Office, a Commerce City Police Officer has been charged with a felony count of animal cruelty in the much-publicized shooting of a Commerce City dog in weeks past. Allegedly, and as apparently demonstrated through a home video, the police officer shot a dog while it was in the garage of a homeowner after having tazed the dog. The DA's release is attached.
