Thornton Shooting with critical injuries

On February 24, 2013 at approximately 1:30 AM, Thornton Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a disturbance where shots were fired at Chamucos Bar located in the 8600 block of Washington Street. Officers found a 40 year old male at that location that sustained a gunshot wound. The male was transported to the hospital for medical treatment for serious injuries.
Officers were able to establish that there was an altercation inside the bar which included a group of three males and two females. As that group was escorted out of the bar, one person pulled out a weapon and fired shots inside the bar. They then fled the scene.
Further investigation into the incident provided leads to identify the person involved in the shooting. A possible location for the shooter was obtained in the 9100 block of Gale Blvd. That area was contained by officers as investigators attempted to obtain a search warrant. One male was later placed into custody for further investigation of the shooting.
