Denver Man killed in Brighton -- UPDATE
On Thursday, November 22, 2012 at about 6:00 am Brighton police officers were dispatched to a stabbing which had just occurred at Eastgate Mobile Home Park, 3060 East Bridge Street in Brighton. Officers were told two males were chasing a male behind a mobile home and the male being chased was yelling for help.
Francisco Javier Moran, a 22 year old, Hispanic male victim was in Brighton with Hector Guadalupe Alvarez-Martinon, an 18 year old Hispanic male, and Alex Hernandez, a 21 year old Hispanic male. Alvarez is the uncle of Moran’s children. The three males were driving around Brighton in a black, 2007 Cadillac Escalade, when Alvarez began stabbing Moran. Moran fled the Escalade and was chased through the Eastgate Mobile Home Park by Alvarez and Hernandez. Neighbors heard Moran calling for help and called 911.
Officers arrived on scene ninety seconds after being dispatched and found Moran walking behind a mobile home. Moran was shirtless and covered in blood. Moran told two officers that Hector Alvarez was his attacker and then lost consciousness. The Moran was transported by ambulance to Denver Health Medical Center where he later died from the injuries. Moran was a resident of Denver.
At about 3:45 pm Hector Alvarez and Alex Hernandez were taken into custody and are being held on the charge of 1st Degree Murder at the Adams County Detention Facility. Alvarez and Hernandez are residents of Denver.
