Police investigating child’s report of suspicious male
Brighton police are investigating an incident involving a suspicious male who approached a child on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 as she walked to school at South Elementary, located at 305 S. 5th Ave.
Officers were summoned to the school at about 8:25 a.m., after a student told school officials she had been approached by a strange man on her way to school. The girl said she was walking near S. 2nd Ave. and Mather St. when a man in a red or maroon 4-door vehicle followed her for a short distance, then told her to get in his car. She described the car as having some black coloring near the rear of the vehicle, and described the unknown male as wearing a gray hoodie-type sweatshirt.
Brighton police are currently working to develop all investigative leads in the incident, and have increased patrols around area schools.
Anyone observing suspicious activity in progress should call 9-1-1; police are also asking that anyone with information about these incidents contact the Brighton Police Department tip-line at (303) 655-8740.
