City of Brighton Weekly Police Update

On Monday, October 8, officer’s Ashley, Stanek and Michalik were selected to become Police Training Officers. In addition to being patrol officers, they will now be responsible for training new police recruits. They are attending a 40- hour training class to learn the concepts of police training. The class is being held at the Fort Collins Police Department.

 On Tuesday, October 9, during the early morning hours, there were numerous
incidents of criminal mischief mostly on the east side of Brighton. The
neighborhoods affected were Pheasant Ridge, Bromley Park, Brighton East
Farms, Platte River Ranch, Water Tower Park and Northgate. During a threehour
window, there were 22 reported incidents. The police are looking for a
dark colored SUV which was seen in the area.


 On Thursday, October 11, the Westminster Police Department requested
assistance from neighboring law enforcement agencies. Two Brighton officers
and a sergeant responded to assist in searching a field for evidence related to the
Jessica Ridgeway case. Westminster Police also requested the use of the Mobile
Command Center to be used as a Command Post during the search.
