Possession of a Dangerous Weapon Arrest

On 07-29-2012, at approximately 10:15 pm, Thornton Police Officers were dispatched to the Cinebarre Movie Theater, 10001 N. Grant Street, in reference to a patron entering the theater with a handgun strapped to his waist line. The weapon was in an open carry position, visible to others.

 Officers evacuated several theaters as a precautionary measure, and located the individual. The subject’s possession of the firearm caused alarm to the theater staff and fellow movie patrons.  Mapes was taken into custody for investigation of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon in a liquor and beer establishment.   Arrested for investigation of Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Municpal Ordinance # 38-237 was:
