Reunion Crime Alert -- 18 Vehicle 'Trespasses' within the last 30 Days
Since June 2012, eighteen (18) vehicles in the Reunion and Reunion Southlawn neighborhoods have been trespassed and had items stolen from inside. The vehicles involved were left unlocked and parked on the street or in a driveway. Items stolen included electronics, CD’s, cash, and other items of value.
Often vehicle trespasses are crimes of opportunity, and it is not uncommon for groups of people to walk through neighborhoods looking for unsecured vehicles. Please remember to remove valuables from your vehicle and lock the doors when leaving your vehicle unattended.
If you see any suspicious activities please report it by calling 9-1-1.
The following tips are a great way to keep you safe wherever you go.
- Lock all doors and windows when leaving your vehicle unattended.
- Remove all valuables from inside your vehicle. Something you don’t think is valuable may be valuable to someone else
- If parking in public, use a well lighted area
- If parking at home, park in a garage
- Never leave your vehicle running unattended, not even to warm-up in the mornings
