Ripple Creek Lodge to Celebrate Harvesting of the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree
The White River National Forest in northwest Colorado has been honored with the opportunity to provide the 2012 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree. The staff at Ripple Creek Lodge would like to invite you to enjoy our hospitality and help us celebrate this gift from the state of Colorado to the people of the United States.
On Friday the 2nd of November, from 8:00am to 12:00pm, the staff at Ripple Creek is Lodge throwing a party to commemorate the harvesting of the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree and the beginning of the tree’s journey from the Blanco Ranger District to the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. This festivity is free and open to everyone and will include photo opportunities with the Capitol Christmas Tree, a bonfire, giveaways, Christmas cookies and candies, hot cocoa, coffee and a special visit from Santa Claus.
Ripple Creek Lodge is located approximately 40 miles east of Meeker along the Flat Tops Trail Scenic Byway in northwest Colorado. Nestled deep in the heart of the White River National Forest on the edge of the pristine Flat Tops Wilderness Area, Ripple Creek Lodge offers cabin rentals; guided hunting, fishing, horseback riding and back country camping trips; dining in the historic main lodge; and a passageway to miles of scenic wilderness trails, hundreds of back country glacial lakes and the spectacular beauty of the Colorado high country.
