Adams County Tip-A-Cop partners with Red Robin in Fundraising Effort
Westminster, October 12, 2013.
Adams County Tip-A-Cop converged upon the Red Robin Restaurant in Westminster to help raise funds and awareness for Colorado Special Olympics.
The organization, consisting of eight law enforcement agencies and fire districts, works together to bus tables, serve food, and accept the tips from patrons who
want to make a difference in the lives of your handi-capable youth.
Landing Place Church "Micah Project" Helps Denver Rescue Mission Children
May 11, 2013, Denver. Reunion's "Landing Place Church" offered help and hope to Denver Rescue Mission children this Mothers Day. One of the churches' small groups designated its "Micah Project" toward helping the Denver Rescue Mission children celebrate their mothers. With a full sheet cake, party favors, and arts and crafts supplies, about a dozen Landing Place Church members helped children create and decorate crosses, design Mothers Day cards, and craft tissue paper 'flowers'. The group is looking for donations and more involvement in what is a 'very rewarding experience'.Adams County Agencies Unite for Special Olympics

Denver Rescue Mission, Volunteers of America and Runner’s Roost Denver are partnering to feed approximately 600 homeless and low-income men, women and children this Easter. The 20th Annual Easter Celebration at the Lawrence Street Shelter will be held on Friday, March 29. Worship, communion and foot washing are offered out of humility and love. Each guest receives a new pair of shoes and socks, with the option of a foot exam administered by medical professionals. ...Commerce City Girl Scout, firefighters to deliver cookies to veterans
COMMERCE CITY, COLO. – A local girl scout and firefighters from the South Adams County volunteer fire department will deliver more than 100 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to the Colorado State Veterans Home in Aurora on Saturday as part of a challenge to see how many cookies could be donated to veterans. The contest started when Isabella Heinmiller, a member of Girl Scout 3406 and a fourth-grade student at Turnberry Elementary in Commerce City, went to her local South Adams County fire station to sell Girl Scout cookies. There, one firefighter offered to buy six cases of cookies (72 boxes of cookies) and have them donated back to the veterans home. The donation spurred a challenge to see how many boxes of cookies could be purchased and donated for veterans. Working together, Isabella and SACFD firefighters now have 111 boxes of cookies for delivery....Valley Bank, Shopology to Announce Major Community Event Series

Last year a record $2.820 million was distributed to 65 Denver-area nonprofit agencies through Season To Share, a campaign of Denver Post Charities, a McCormick Foundation Fund. The organizations supported help move people out of poverty by providing meals for those who are hungry; shelter for those who are homeless; health care for uninsured and underinsured patients; education programs for disadvantaged children; and literacy services for low-income adults.
