WHY:             The Easter Celebration is a special time for the Mission to treat guests to more than just a meal. While providing for the physical needs of the homeless generally comes first, Denver Rescue Mission and Volunteers of America hope to satisfy the spiritual and emotional needs of guests this holiday. Homeless individuals often lack a caring touch that others take for granted. Foot washing is symbolic of the Easter story and provides true compassion and tender care. Medical staff is available for feet issues among the elderly and homeless guests. Brand new socks and shoes symbolize a step toward a new beginning.
