Comedy for CASA:     A Night of Laughs for a Good Cause at Comedy Works Downtown

Denver, CO – There is no better time than during the holiday season to get together with friends to share an evening of laughs, good food and entertainment. You can make the event even more special knowing that you are helping to fight for the basic human rights of abused and neglected children in Adams, Broomfield and Denver Counties just by enjoying a fun evening out.


On Thursday, December 6, 2012, Comedy Works Downtown and the Young Philanthropist Projects (YPP) of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Adams & Broomfield Counties and Child Advocates, Denver CASA will be hosting Comedy for CASA.  The evening starts at 8:00 pm featuring comedian Joe Larson who has recently been featured in Johnny Carson’s Great American Comedy Festival.  Tickets are just $15 and are available for purchase from CASA of Adams & Broomfield Counties at www.casa17th.org or by calling 303.655.3927 or for purchase from Child Advocates, Denver CASA at www.denvercasa.org or by calling 303.832.4592.

 

A portion of ticket sales will help provide advocacy services for abused and neglected children in Adams, Broomfield and Denver Counties. 

 

The Young Philanthropist Project (YPP) is a group of philanthropists in their 20s, 30s and early 40s that work to reach out to the community in support of CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties and Child Advocates, Denver CASA.

 

Each group’s goal is to raise awareness about CASA in a way that allows participants to have fun, network and give back to the community. The YPP strives to create events that are fresh and appealing to young people interested in making a difference. Events are intended to be a fun and exciting way to raise funds for CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties and Child Advocates, Denver CASA, while providing exceptional opportunities for young professionals and philanthropists.

 

The YPP meets once a month at varying locations across the Denver and North Metro area. In addition to addressing the YPP agenda, the YPP provides an opportunity to network and enjoy the company of like-minded young professionals.

 

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of Adams and Broomfield Counties and Child Advocates, Denver CASA are both 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations that work to make sure that every child who cannot live safely at home has a caring, compassionate CASA Volunteer who will help fight for their right to be safe, ensure that they are treated with dignity, and assure their safe passage out of foster care. Building a stronger community for all.  Each year, in Adams, Broomfield and Denver Counties, there are over 2,400 children who have been physically, sexually or emotionally abused or neglected, and who are in desperate need of a caring, committed CASA Volunteer to speak up for their best interests. In Adams, Broomfield and Denver Counties, there are over 370 CASA volunteers, however there is a need for more great community members to become advocates for children.
